Adolescent Birth Rates over Time, by Country July 13, 2010

Came across this data set while looking for something else. It’s data on the adolescent birth rate (per 1 000 women aged 15 to 19) (United Nations, Department of Economic and Social Affairs,  Population Division (2010).  2010 Update for the MDG Database: Adolescent Birth Rate (POP/DB/Fert/A/MDG2010), retrieved from www.unpopulation.org)

And here’s a slightly messy graph I made, but with lots of countries. (Click on the graph to view a larger image in a new window.)

Note that Mexico has a hight birth rate, and that the US has a high birth rate compared to other developed nations. In general, the trend is for a decreasing birth rate.
